Sleepless Nights (a poem)

Sleepless nights with swirling thoughts,
Wonders and worries and whatnots.
The what-ifs that plague the thoughts,
Arousing fears that are unknown and unseen.
Heart starts racing, palms start sweating,
Tossing and turning, turning and tossing.
No rest for the weary this night,
The mind is all shook up with fright.
Every little noise that is heard,
Adds even more to the fear,
What could be out there?
Who could it be?
With the swirling thoughts of wonders and worries and whatnots,
No sleep will come tonight because of the what-ifs that plague the thoughts.
Round and round the thoughts come and go,
Showing just how deep the worrying and fears go.
